It tastes just as good as it looks: really good.

    I'm impressed. Did you use his exact recipe? By the way, Season 1 Episode 2 of “The F Word” has a segment on Freegans.

      Pretty much the exact recipe. The beef was tremendously tender and flavorful, but Christy didn't like the mushrooms and parma ham as much. She felt that the flavors overwhelmed the beef. I liked the combo.

      BTW, it wasn't that hard to make at all. The trick is to use an instant read thermometer to measure the internal temperature of the beef since you can't touch the beef inside the pastry. As soon as it hits about 130 degrees, it'll come out a nice medium rare after resting for about 8 minutes.
